Complex catheter systems creator Catheter & Medical Design (Roseville, Minn.) recently announced it’s hired two industry experts into business development roles.
Rich Abraham is CMD’s new East Coast business development director. Abraham founded TDC Medical in 2004. After the sale of TDC Medical to Vention in 2009, Abraham served as business development director, remaining as technical director after Nordson bought TDC Medical in 2017.
Scott Olson, CMD’s new Midwest business development director, is an expert in complex catheter-based devices and delivery systems, with more than 30 years of experience. He’s held design and manufacturing engineering positions with OEMs including SciMed Life Systems (now part of Boston Scientific) and St. Jude Medical (now part of Abbott). He then built a career in contract design and manufacturing, with positions at Creganna Medical and MedVenture. In 2012, he founded Matrix Medtech, which was sold in 2015 to Catheter Research (now part of Biomerics).
“These hires were motivated by our commitment to bringing the best people on board to work directly with our customers to speed development and ramp manufacturing quickly and reliably,” CMD CEO Randall Sword said in a July 15 news release.
