Ambu today announced that it has been awarded a contract for single-use visualization devices with Vizient, effective Feb. 1, 2022.
The contract will help Ballerup, Denmark-based Ambu expand its single-use endoscope market by offering Vizient members pre-negotiated pricing and terms for Ambu’s single-use products, which include bronchoscopy, urology, ENT and GI. The agreement also includes access to all new single-use endoscope launches.
The contract follows Ambu’s Vizient award last week in which its King Vision video laryngoscope system would be included in a Vizient membership.
Vizient is a healthcare performance improvement company that serves 97% of the U.S.’s academic medical centers, so the deal will allow Ambu to boost its market share in the hospital market.
“Our vision at Ambu is to be the most innovative single-use endoscopy company and this agreement with Vizient enables us to better serve its member health systems, hospitals, and healthcare providers across the U.S.,” CEO Juan Jose Gonzalez said in a news release. “We consider Vizient an exceptional company and are excited to work closely with its member organizations. Our portfolio breadth, innovation ecosystem and attractive economics mean we can be the partner of choice for health systems in their efforts to prevent device-related infections, boost healthcare economics and improve clinical workflows.”
