Guill is touting a new reciprocating head at MD&M West, Feb. 11-13 in Anaheim, Calif.
The reciprocating head features a linear reciprocating assembly that can change a tube’s profile and replaces the traditional tip and die assembly.
Guill Tool’s process of changing tube profiles is repeated throughout a single extrusion run without interruptions and cutting capabilities cut the finished products to length.
The reciprocating head eliminates an assembly operation, according to the company. It also eliminates in-process inventory and doesn’t require storage of various tubing shapes and connectors that are typically needed for assembly, the fulfillment of orders and replenishment of finished goods. It also eliminates a connecting piece and allows for JIT product and products made-to-order, according to the company.
