Prytime Medical recently launched its aortic occlusion catheter ER-REBOA Plus Catheter.
The resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) catheter is designed for controlling massive non-compressible hemorrhage.
“ER-REBOA Plus represents the evolution of REBOA based on experience and input from civilian trauma surgeons,” CEO David Spencer said in a news release. “The civilian marketplace believes that no one should bleed to death, and the sooner you stop the bleeding the better. The ER-REBOA Plus catheter was developed to help doctors preserve their clinical options for optimal care and best outcomes.”
Clinicians have used REBOA in other emergent hemorrhage control situations, including postpartum hemorrhage, adjunct during surgical procedures, interventional radiology and pre-hospital settings, according to the company.
