Resonetics today said it completed its acquisition of Distal Solutions for an undisclosed amount.
Distal Solutions specializes in the design and development of catheter-based delivery systems for medical devices and implants. Distal’s founder David Rezac will lead Resonetics’s design and development efforts and California market expansion.
Westborough, Mass.-based Distal Solutions is the sixth add-on acquisition since GTCR invested in Resonetics in February 2018. The acquisition builds upon Resonetics’s micro-manufacturing and design of complex interventional medical devices.
“Consistent with our initial investment thesis for Resonetics, the acquisition of Distal Solutions strategically enhances Resonetics’ capabilities, and further establishes the company’s position as a leading service provider to interventional medical device companies,” Resonetics executive chairman Chip Hance said in a news release.
“We have great respect for what David and the Distal team have built, and we look forward to our partnership with them. This represents Resonetics’ sixth acquisition since our initial investment, and we expect to continue to aggressively pursue tuck-in acquisitions as well as more transformative opportunities,” GTCR managing director Sean Cunningham said.
