Teleflex today announced it was awarded a contract for the supply of central venous access devices from Vizient, effective immediately.
The agreement allows Vizient members to take advantage of special pricing for Teleflex’s line of central venous access catheters (CVCs). The group purchasing agreement includes Teleflex’s Arrowg+ard Blue Plus CVCs and Arrow ErgoPack Complete systems.
Vizient is a healthcare performance improvement company that serves 50% of the U.S.’s acute care providers, including 97% of academic medical centers and more than 20% of ambulatory care providers. The agreement will to boost Teleflex’s market share in hospitals in the U.S.
Teleflex’s CVCs are antimicrobial and protect against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi and have demonstrated a 67% to 100% reduction in central line-associated infections. The systems help maintain a high standard of patient care, standardize vascular access across a system and help control costs and risks from infections.
“As the market leader in central venous catheters, we are pleased to offer Vizient members one of the broadest portfolios of central access products available,” said Lisa Kudlacz, president and GM of Teleflex Vascular. “Our Arrow brand of vascular access products are designed to equally benefit clinicians and patients, help protect against vascular access-related complications like infection, thrombosis, and tip malposition, and help clinicians follow independent third-party vascular access guidelines.”
