Argon Medical Devices buys its U.K. distributor

May 31, 2019 By Nancy Crotti

Argon Medical Devices (Frisco, Texas), an OEM manufacturer of specialty medical products, custom components and drainage catheters, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Mana-Tech, Ltd., its exclusive distributor for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Mana-Tech (Burton-on-Trent, England) is a distributor of biopsy products and radiology consumables in the U.K. The entire Mana-Tech team, including its management, sales, customer service and distribution groups, will join Argon as part of the acquisition.

Argon offers a broad line of disposable medical devices for interventional radiology, interventional oncology and vascular surgery. The company creates custom components like needles, stopcocks, guidewires and sheath introducers while also offering private label packaging, sterilization and custom kit assembly. Its capabilities include injection and insert molding, tubing extrusion, metal forming, grinding, welding and slip coat hydrophilic coating. The company is ISO 13485 certified.

“The acquisition of Mana-Tech, Ltd. represents a compelling growth opportunity to expand our commercial reach in the U.K., Ireland and throughout Europe,” said Argon Medical Devices president and CEO George Leondis in a news release. “We are excited to have this very talented group join Argon and to work even more closely with them to continue their successful growth trajectory.”
