Freudenberg Medical said today it has added medical balloon development and balloon rapid-prototyping services to its product development center in Minnetonka, Minn.
By establishing a “Balloon Development Center of Excellence,” Freudenberg has centralized its balloon development activities to further decrease turnaround times for prototypes while supporting its manufacturing facilities with turnkey solutions. The company has offered balloon development for more than 15 years.
The new balloon development center offers in-house capabilities to develop, manufacture and test high-performance medical balloons, including dedicated equipment and project engineers to enable short timelines and accelerate time to market. Rapid-response prototyping enables quick design concepts not available through typical off-the-shelf industry solutions.
“Whether you’re looking to address challenging requirements with multi-layer extrusions, high burst pressures or specific features, lengths and diameters, our rapid response prototyping team will quickly work with you to get prototypes in hand,” said Mark Ostwald, president of Freudenberg Medical Minimally Invasive Solutions in a news release. “Our knowledge with non-compliant, semi-compliant and compliant balloon technologies in a range of dimensions and materials makes Freudenberg Medical a great partner for custom balloon development.”
