Andera Partners said today that it led a $20 million Series D financing round for urology-focused medical device maker Rivermark Medical.
Rivermark Medical aims to redefine the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) through its FloStent platform. It also picked up funding in the Series D from existing investors and an unnamed strategic investor.
The company plans to use funds to support its ongoing RAPID III pivotal clinical trial to achieve FDA approval in the U.S. It then expects to prepare for a commercial launch of FloStent.
FloStent, a non-surgical, fully reversible first-line therapy, treats lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH. Delivery can take place in an outpatient setting during a routine cystoscopy using standard urological tools. Rivermark designed it for easy retrieval or adjustment after implantation to preserve future treatment options.
The device combines a simple, office-based workflow with a tissue-preserving approach to make a widely available BPH therapy. Rivermark already reports rapid recovery and durable treatment outcomes through 24 months of follow-up from its RAPID II study.
“We welcome Andera Partners as we continue working to bring a simple, non-surgical, reversible option to the millions of men seeking treatment for BPH,” said Dr. Adam Kadlec, CEO and co-founder of Rivermark Medical. “Andera’s support strengthens our ability to execute on RAPID III and prepare FloStent for a successful commercial launch.”
BPH continues to draw innovation from various areas of medtech. ProVerum and Zenflow announced FDA approvals for their implant-based technologies that treat BPH in December 2025. Butterfly Medical also recently completed the final 12-month follow-up for all patients in a study of its prostatic retraction device for BPH. Robotic technology developer Procept then launched its BPH-treating system internationally and Prodeon won FDA clearance for its nitinol device for BPH.
Histotripsy pioneer HistoSonics also recently began a study using its therapy in BPH treatment.
