Company officials have touted the Composer platform as a way to take the handle out of the equation for catheter system creators. It includes finished steerable catheters that are ready for private label development, as well as a design platform that can accelerate time to market for new and next-generation catheters and delivery systems.
The platform boasts a modular design and open shaft architecture in order to enable a wide range of custom aplications in a wide range of fields, including structural heart, electrophysiology, imaging and vascular.
“The speed of innovation in the medical device market is dizzying, creating a growing commercialization gap,” Anthony Appling, senior diirector of R&D at Freudenberg Medical, said in a news release. “Newly developed device launches cannot keep pace with new concept ideas, which is the inspiration for the Composer.”
