2. Rist Neurovascular: Rist Cath radial access long sheath
Rist Neurovascular received FDA clearance in February 2020 for its Rist Cath radial access long sheath for access to the neurovasculature.
Rist Cath is designed to reach the neurovasculature through the radial artery in the wrist, which could potentially open up the possibility of performing a number of neuromuscular procedures transradially, according to the company.
Rist Cath is a single-lumen, variable-stiffness catheter with a stainless steel- and nitinol-reinforced shaft that has a radiopaque marker band on the distal end to aid in visualization. The catheter has an outer diameter of 0.093 in. and an inner diameter of 0.079 in. It comes in working lengths of 95 cm and 100 cm and has a PTFE-lined lumen to enable the movement of other devices passing through it.
