4. Philips: QuickClear mechanical thrombectomy system
Philips launched its QuickClear mechanical thrombectomy system in the U.S. in September 2020. The device is designed to remove blood clots from the peripheral arterial and venous systems.
QuickClear is a compact, single-use system designed to provide an all-in-one aspiration pump and catheter to remove blood clots.
The device is compact enough to be placed on the table next to the patient. The system can be started by pressing a button, which brings QuickClear up to maximum aspiration power within seconds. It provides the same aspiration power as competing mechanical thrombectomy systems without capital equipment, according to Philips.
QuickClear can use catheters in sizes 6F, 8F and 10F. Its components include a T-connector, 60 cc booster syringe, inline flow control switch, hemostasis valve y-connector, QuickClear aspiration pump and 1400 ml disposal container.
